Plekanec On The Move?
(Philadelphia Inquirer) PHILADELPHIA, PA -- SCHL Insiders are reporting that Racers' forward Tomas Plekanec has indicated that he's willing to waive his no-trade clause in order to give himself a better chance at a championship.
Plekanec, 33, finished 68th in NHL scoring last season, only one point behind fellow Czech Jakub Voracek.
Racers' GM Mike McLaren was asked to comment on these reports and would only state by phone that "[Tomas] Plekanec is a great member of our team and we're not looking to move him. But even if we were entertaining such a move it would require at least a 1st round pick in the '17 draft."
That certainly sounds like less than a denial, but it remains to be seen if Plekanec will really be on the move, or if he has indeed waived his no trade clause.
